Meet the Designer

Hey friends! I’m thrilled you decided to drop by! I’m Caroline (Pierce) Shipman, owner and designer here at Pierce and Hide. As a lifetime lover of large, statement earrings my desire has always been to offer customers on trend statement earrings at a reasonable price.

As the youngest of two girls, I can still remember counting the days until my tenth birthday for the long awaited trip to Claire's to get my ears pierced! There was something about that day that felt like a rite of passage in the journey of growing up. Fast forward to high school and I was stealing my older sister’s clothes, wearing big earrings and having a strong affinity for pointed heels. Post-graduation I headed to Meredith College in Raleigh to study Communication and hopefully avoid the math and science building all together! 

Shortly after graduating, I met my husband, Zak at our local Planet Fitness. Oh the irony in meeting my husband at a gym! Aka- the bane of my existence. Zak and I have been married now for 12 jam packed years and I am so blessed by our three sons; Will (9), Pierce (6) and Grey Bear (4). These days, I'm surrounded by Nerf guns, muddy shoes and a love for catching bugs.

Pierce and Hide has grown out of a desire to make women feel treasured, beautiful and loved. You are "fearfully and wonderfully made" (Psalm 139:14) and I hope that when you land here you know you are treasured just as you are but inspired to take the risk, grab those big earrings and make a statement!
